Now that we are over the Christmas School holidays it is the ideal time to come to Portland and enjoy a number of the areas great events.
The Tyrendarra Show is on February 13th. This is a Traditional; Agricultural Show with animal exhibits/competitions & competitions in other areas-wool, speed shearing, horses, sheaf toss, craft, cooking, art & photography. Other highlights of the show are camel rides, stage coach rides, highland dancing, animal nursery, reptile show, pigeons & poultry, show bags, face painting, kids rides and much more....
Also on Saturday February 27th is the Wood, Wine and Roses Festival in Heywood. This is a yearly event that has displays of local industry, produce, people, art/craft, food and wine. Three elements of the Wood, Wine & Roses identify with the history and the future of the area . There is a wide variety of entertainment for all ages, together with a Street Parade.
